I Can’t Wear AirPods, So I Got These Headphones Instead.

Powerbeats Pro

I’m addicted to headphones…

I’m a wireless bluetooth headphone junkie, I have tried them all, from the various $30 dollar ones on Amazon like Anker, Mpow, and Letscom to the Powerbeats 3, which were my favorite for several years – I own 3 pairs (in black, white, and red). I’m an Apple fan and was excited when AirPods were announced, they were awesome in every way, from the battery case to the minimalist look, to the completely wireless operation. I happily bought them the day they were released and about five seconds later I knew I had to return them. They fell out of my ears! Every single time I put them on and tried to move, they fell out! I should have known this was going to happen, as it happened with every pair of EarPods that came with my iPhones over the years. I considered getting rubber attachments that made them stay in, but those would not fit the case. I quickly gave up in fear of losing one or both of the pods.

Powerbeats Pro to the rescue!

I bought the Powerbeats Pro headphones because they have the best feature of my prior favorites Powerbeats 3 – the over the ear hook. Once I had them on, it was time to test. Let’s just say I did my best headbanging, side to side swinging, jumping up and down torture test that I could have come up with and they didn’t’ budge, I knew they were keepers!

Powerbeats Pro

Like the AirPods, Powerbeats Pro come with a self-charging case. They sound great, are splash resistant for those extra sweaty workouts, and last about 9 hours on a full charge. In reality, they last much longer because you charge them every time they are in the case.

My biggest surprise with these was how well wireless Siri works (assuming you paired them with an iPhone).  You can ask Siri to do things without touching your phone via the headphones. They automatically read new text messages so you don’t have to be distracted from your workout and allow you to respond by simply saying “reply + the message you want to send”. They are very handy in that each headphone works independently. Sometimes I’ll use one as a wireless headset for a conversation, then put both on when I want to tune in to some music. Seamless switching between Apple devices makes these a must-have for Apple fans. So, even though I already have 3 pairs of Powerbeats 3, these are so good, I use them all the time. I strongly recommend grabbing a pair, you won’t regret it!
