I Gave In and Tried Dr.Squatch Soap

After getting pummeled by their ads on Facebook, Youtube, and other places, I finally caved and decided to give Dr.Squatch a try. At $10 a bar, it’s not cheap but won’t break my piggy bank.

I don’t try new personal hygiene products often as my current soap, shaving supplies, and shampoo seem to be doing the trick, but I liked this ad so much I decided to give it a shot. It’s funny enough to watch all the way through.

The promise is that it’s all-natural, safe ingredients won’t harm you, and it’s patriotically handmade in the USA. I tried the Pine Tar version because who doesn’t want to smell like the forest during the quarantine.

So far, I showered with it twice, and the biggest takeaway is that the smell is fresh and natury – kind of like taking a shower after camping, but not too strong. I was surprised by the sand in the soap. Since when is sand included in soap? It sounds like a gimmick but left my skin feeling super clean and exfoliated.

I’m curious to see how long it lasts, which will probably determine if I reorder. Based on reading some Amazon reviews, handmade cold-press soaps are more gentle than regular bars, and you want to avoid keeping them wet or pouring excess water over them to maximize use.
